WHAT IS GELSOFT?​

It’s like“Paintball without the pain and without the mess”

GelSoft is a new game that uses an electric blaster much like an airsoft blaster that shoots an 8mm water orb. The water orb allows for a much lighter impact and no mess.

GelSoft is an ultra low impact sport – suitable for kids age five and up. It uses GelSoft blasters – an easy-to-use blaster that doesn’t use much pressure to shoot gellet ammunition. Unlike Nerf – where you have to constantly reload with ammo off the floor, a GelSoft Blaster holds 600 gels without reloading!!!

 

WHAT IS A GELSOFT BLASTER?

Its an electric blaster used to shoot orbeez.
 

The GelSoft Blasters used by Acadiana GelSoft are electronic blasters, so if you squeeze the trigger and hold it, they will shoot about 10 gellets per second! However, we tell the players to shoot in “short bursts” – just a quick pull on the trigger. The pod that holds the ammo is called a “hopper” – it holds 600 gellets.

 

WHAT IF I RUN OUT OF AMMO?

You can always visit our ammo table and we will refill your hopper. After getting reloaded we ask that players return to their base and “tag in” or touch the base before resuming the game. This ensures players are not getting an unfair advantage of advancing the field without the challenge of being hit by the opposing team.

Some players use more ammo more quickly. We instruct players to shoot in short bursts and not to waste their ammo. We reload ammo during games as needed.

 

HOW MANY PLAYERS CAN PLAY GELSOFT?

We allow up to 10 players at one time. We have noticed that more than 10 players on the field creates congestion and we want to ensure a safe and fun playing field for all participants.
 

WHAT AGES CAN PLAY GELSOFT?

As young as 5yrs up to age 85yrs

Every player is different. We allow players as young as 5 because the equipment is easy to use.
 

When booking your event, keep in mind that younger players will have a harder time participating with older players and may face higher risk of injury when playing with older or larger players.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED AND CAN I BRING MY OWN?

​

Just you, the player, with closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing for exercise is needed, we provide everything else. 

All of the necessary equipment is included in your party/event fee.

Our equipment includes: our battery-powered automatic Gel Blaster blasters, full-face protective mask and ammo. If you are playing glow-mode, we include the glow ammo.

You do not need to own or bring any special equipment, but you are welcome to do so if you wish.

You are welcome to bring your personal gel blaster. No gelblaster speeds above 260fps. If you have a magazine fed blaster, you must bring your own ammo.​

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

​

While our arena is climate controlled and typically around 70 degrees, you will likely sweat.

Clothes you would wear to the gym or for any physical activity.
We play in shorts and tee’s all the time.

Glow game tracer rounds (if used) can leave a colored residue on clothes and skin. In our experience this fades and washes out, however, we always recommend wearing clothing that can get dirty and possibly even stained.

We ask that all players wear appropriate footwear. NO crocs, sandals, flip-flops or cowboy boots. We have found this footwear to be problematic and unsafe for the fast paced game of gelsoft.

 

HOW IS GELSOFT PLAYED?

As a versus battle competition between red and blue teams.

We typically play capture the base in teams of up to 5. We aim to play three rounds, each round lasting up to 15 minutes. If your group cannot sit still for the briefing things may get delayed. 

Our safety rules and conduct expectations are given by the host before beginning. We expect respect for other players, as well as our staff, equipment and the location.

There should be no physical contact between players (or equipment). Our arena, bunkers and equipment are not designed to be climbed upon or moved. We do not tolerate aggressive, rude or damaging behavior related to other players, our staff or our equipment.

 

DOES IT HURT TO GET SHOT?

No, not in comparison to paintball, the GelSoft Blaster uses very low pressure to shoot, so it only feels like a good snap of a rubber band. But you’ll be having so much fun, you won’t mind it!

Each person’s sensitivity to the impact is different. We compare the feeling to getting flicked with a rubber band. GelSoft has a much lower impact than paintball and airsoft.

Impact particularly at close range and on bare skin may leave a temporary red mark. Red marks on bare skin or through thin or tight layers of clothes are common from close range combat – in our experience, these marks are not painful but can be apparent for some time, particularly on sensitive skin.

 

DO YOU CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT?

Yes! We clean our equipment after each group finishes their session to have it ready for the next set of guests.

 

IS A WAIVER REQUIRED?

​

Yes, for every player who wants to participate. Please complete a waiver for each participant using the tab at the top of website labeled “Waiver”
Our electronic waiver can be completed in advance and must be on file for every participant. For your convenience, a parent or legal guardian may easily include multiple minors on one waiver.

 

DO YOU SELL GELSOFT EQUIPMENT?

Yes. We are an official, authorized dealer for Gellyball brand equipment. We carry Gellyball brand gel blasters and ammo. Our blasters are $65 and include the gel blaster, hopper, battery, charger, safety glasses and 10,000 dehydrated gellets.

 

WHAT IS THE GELSOFT ARENA MADE OF?

Our arena is the only modular gelsoft arena in the Acadiana area. The dividing walls are made of wood and recycled billboard vinyl. We also have inflatable bunkers placed throughout the field.

 

HOW LONG DOES A BATTERY LAST AND WHAT IF IT DIES?

​

The entire session, and we will change battery as needed.

Batteries in the GelSoft Blasters should last your entire session if players follow instructions. We have spare batteries and can change out blasters or batteries as needed to ensure your playtime is not interrupted. Failure to follow instructions may cause batteries or ammo to run out prematurely. While we have some extras on hand, it is important to follow all instructions.

HOW MUCH ARE ADDITIONAL PLAYERS?

​

Additional players are only $25 per person with any group or party package.

GelSoft plays up to 5v5. We prefer up to 10 players at a time on the field but we have had games with up to 14 total players.  
 

CAN I BOOK AN 'AFTER HOURS' or a LARGER PARTY?

After hours sessions will incur an additional fee and is dependent on availability of staff.

 

DO YOU ALLOW OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS AT YOUR LOCATION?

Yes for PARTY PACKAGES! We do not want our customers to be restricted to food/drinks that they do not like.

 

Due to quick turn around between games, we do not allow outside food/drink for non party package services. Our party packages allow ample time to celebrate with your guests.

 

WHAT COSTS EXTRA?

 

• After Hours – if you party request is after our normal operating hours or closed days we may charge an additional fee.

• Glow games – (glowing tracer rounds)

• Damage to our property or equipment will incur additional fees on a case by case basis.

IS GELSOFT LIKE PAINTBALL?

​

It’s all the fun and excitement of paintball, without the pain and mess! Like paintball, you get to shoot at the opposing team.

 

IS GELSOFT LIKE NERF?

​

GelSoft is WAY more fun than Nerf! The only similarity is that you get to shoot ammo. You aren’t constantly picking ammo up from the ground to reload – the Gel Blaster holds 600 gellets!! And it shoots 10 GelSofts per second and accurately shoots farther than a nerf blaster!!!!

 

HOW DO YOU CLEAN UP THE GELLETS?

​

GelSoft beads are non-toxic, non-staining and biodegradable. They are safe for pets, yards and people! They are water-hydrated and will shrink to a tiny size before disintegrating entirely – no mess! We have a special sweeper that we will run between games to clean up excess gels on the floor of the arena.

Cancellation Policy

​

All birthday party packages are subject to a $100 non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. All cancellations must be done at least 7 days before the date of the party. Party dates may be moved within 6 months of the original booking date; however, a cancellation will result in a loss of the deposit.

​

All regular sessions must be canceled at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund. All sessions can be rescheduled for a $10 rescheduling fee.
